Introduction to public safety administration for private-sector and public-sector applications. This course focuses on the key functions of the first responder disciplines and describes the history and current forces and trends facing public safety administrators in contemporary society. An overview of public safety, highlighting its diverse aspects, is provided. Topics include management functions, paradigms and practices, challenges, politics, and future directions of first responders. An emphasis is placed on the role of evolving technologies and their applications.
