Live and Recorded Sound, AAS

The Live and Recorded Sound, AAS at TJC capitalizes on the strengths of Mass Communication, Theatre, and Music to offer a workforce credential in the creative heart of the college. It will include training in audio recording, music production, live sound, lighting, and video production. The program is designed to equip students with skills to produce live and recorded music with multimedia presentation capabilities.

This degree program would prepare students for a job that is projected to grow faster than average (10%) according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. It has a bright outlook according to O*Net. The career has a starting wage of $31,879, median wage of $46,319, and an average wage of $48,055 in Texas according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Every Associate of Applied Science degree plan must contain at least 15 semester hours of general education courses. At least one course must be taken from each of the following areas: humanities/fine arts (language, philosophy & culture/creative arts), social/behavioral science (social and behavioral sciences/American history/government/political science), and natural science/mathematics (life and physical sciences/mathematics).
