Our Surveying and Geomatics, Occupational Skills Award (OSA) introduces the basic elements of surveying required of a land surveyor. Students completing this award will have a general understanding of the land surveying industry, the importance of working together on a team to solve surveying-related problems, and the importance of time management in completing a task.

Students enrolled in this award will study the basics of statistical analysis of surveying data, be introduced to how land is described, learn to read and understand metes and bounds descriptions, and learn the fundamentals of computer-aided drafting and design (CADD).

While students who complete this award could enter the industry at very entry-level positions, they are encouraged to continue into the Surveying and Geomatics: Level One, Certificate.

Marketable skills for this award include: problem solving and team work.
