If you haven’t really decided what you’re passionate about yet, then a General Studies associate’s degree is a great starting point. Many people pick a General Studies degree as a way to earn credits, while having the flexibility to decide on a career path. Our General Studies: English Pathway Program is especially well-suited to students whose first language is not English and who would like to pursue their college degree, while improving their written and oral English communication skills.
Students in the General Studies: English Pathway Program will take the same coursework as students in the General Studies Program, with the addition of English language courses to improve written and oral communication in English. The recommended course sequence places the general education coursework in an order that allows a year of coursework before students take their most writing- and speaking-intensive courses.
Our General Studies: English Pathway Program prepares you for transfer to a four-year college or university. The flexible curriculum allows you to set and meet your individual goals, while studying a balanced schedule of humanities, mathematics, science, and social science courses.
Marketable skills for this award include: critical thinking, multi-tasking, research, verbal communication skills, and written communication skills.
