The Vocational Nursing (VN) program prepares graduates to provide nursing care in structured healthcare settings for clients of all ages who have well-defined health problems with predictable outcomes. Emphasis is placed on the ability to make sound judgments based on critical thinking skills and the ability to use technical skills in a variety of settings. Successful completion of TJC’s VN curriculum leads to a Certificate of Proficiency.
Graduates are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Only students who have completed a program of education approved by the State Board and successfully passed the national licensing examination are authorized to practice as LVNs.
