Geology is a vibrant field that integrates detailed field and laboratory work to deepen our understanding of earth processes.
Our program offers you a hands-on and practical experience in this essential and exciting field. Upon graduation students will be ready for entry-level employment in countless geological careers or well-equipped to continue their education at other institutions.
Marketable skills for this award include: analytical/quantitative skills, critical thinking, mathematics, meeting deadlines, problem solving and strong work ethic.

In addition to Major Courses, the student is required to take 44 credit hours from the TJC Core Curriculum . These courses must not duplicate courses taken to fulfill Major Courses requirements. Major Courses: 16

- ***Some transfer institutions prefer that geology majors take MATH 2413 - Calculus I . Students should consult with advisors at the transfer institution to determine which course is best suited for the university’s geology degree.
