The Game and Simulation Development: Design, Occupational Skills Award (OSA) equips students with the foundational skills needed to pursue entry-level careers in game design, simulation development, and interactive media. Students will gain hands-on experience in creating engaging digital experiences. This OSA prepares students for careers such as game designer, game developer, and simulation developer, while also providing a solid foundation for further education in advanced game development programs.
An OSA is the most basic sequence of courses that will prepare students for employment. Students are not able to declare an OSA as a major, or pursue one as an end goal. However, almost all OSAs are built into other certificates and/or majors, and they will be automatically awarded to students as they complete coursework in those certificates and/or majors.
Marketable skills for this award include: computer skills + typing, problem solving, and technical skills.
