The Occupational Skills Award (OSA) in Fundamentals of Automation recognizes students who have successfully completed three semesters of training in electrical and electronic controls, equipping them with the skills needed for careers in industrial automation and process control. This award is designed for students who are preparing for graduation and industry employment.

Students who complete the Electrical/Electronic Controls Technology program will enter the workforce as automation technicians, control panel installers, PLC technicians, and instrumentation specialists in a variety of commercial and industrial manufacturing settings. With just one semester remaining to complete their Instrumentation, Electrical and Controls Fundamentals, CERT or Associate of Applied Science degree, students earning this OSA demonstrate advanced knowledge and hands-on skills that make them highly competitive in the job market.

Marketable skills for this award include: critical thinking and problem solving.
