Nursing, Vocational: Certified Nurse Aide, OSA

The Certified Nurse Aide, Occupational Skills Award within the Vocational and Associate Degree Nursing Programs is geared toward any student who has successfully completed first semester nursing courses. The curriculum will prepare students to test for a certification that will help them gain employment in the healthcare field before graduating as a nurse. This will provide income, as well as valuable patient experience. Emphasis will be placed on patient safety. Upon successful completion of the first semester of the nursing program, the student will be eligible to sit for the Texas Certified Nurse Aide examination.
